Oil was not the only motivation.

The U.S. Military Industrial Complex has made billions in promoting war in Iraq and many General Officers in the U.S. military have made careers out of it.

I am a 2 tour Vietnam Veteran who recently retired after 36 misguided years working in the Military Industrial Complex on many of the weapons systems being used by our forces as we speak.

Given a clearly defined mission and the best armaments and systems in the world, I believed that another Vietnam could be avoided for the American Soldier.

I was wrong.
