How do I work with business mentors?

My answer to How do I work with business mentors?

Answer by Ken Larson:

Be open and objective with your needs and requirements.

Do not expect them to do it for you.

Listen closely to advice offered and ask good questions.

Expect them to educate and provide a general road map so you understand it, then evolve a specific destination for yourself.

The map offered by a good mentor will have variable shoulders on the road and the flexibility for a few detours from which recovery can be achieved.

Travelers on the road of knowledge en route to wisdom learn best via a vehicle they drive themselves. Not all travel at the same speed or take the same route to a destination.
