My answer to What have been the most important factors that are responsible for the rise in Islamic terrorism?

Answer by Ken Larson:

  1. The void left by governments as they come and go in Middle East countries occupied by the United States. Our country has failed to understand the cultures involved, the history of the area and the nature of power structures that have existed for hundred of years.
  2. The supply and sale of weapons to this part of the world and their falling into the hands of extremists.
  3. The profit motives of huge corporations who have been opportunists in the above on USAID Programs, Military Contractor Services and Logistics.
