My answer to Americans come from a variety of backgrounds. How has this diversity contributed to the “melting pot” …
Answer by Ken Larson:
Most who have difficulty with diversity have not had the opportunity to learn about someone different.
Others may not be the same value system as as they possess, but by learning from them they will be able to make distinctions between their values and the values of the different party.
They will then consider accepting the differences without prejudice, communicate more effectively with the other party and move forward on common objectives.
The above process has been essential in the Melting Pot of American society. It is also essential in dealing with our present polarization as a culture and moving our political process into a productive mode.
