My answer to How do you engage with your side passions?

Answer by Ken Larson:

I have found retirement an excellent way to pursue my side passions.

I arise at 3 AM to be on line with military personnel who are stationed in the Middle East and are planning a small business when they return to the U.S. and leave the service.

I then leave the veterans home where I have lived a retirement of 10 years. After breakfast I take a 3 mile hike along the nature trails in Hastings, Minnesota to the local library where the county makes offices available to my non-profit volunteer foundation helping veterans and small businesses. SMALL BUSINESS FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CONTRACTING (SBFGC)

I meet with local clients for 4 hours and conduct on-line consulting, returning home along the Mississippi and Vermillion River trails enjoying fishing and photography along the way.

I am available after the evening meal for 2 hours for phone consulting with clients. Many read the free books and materials I have written in retirement and wish to discuss them.

I am usually asleep by 8PM in the evening.
